What Are Chakras

A Chakra i s an energy vortex within the energetic body of every human on the planet. Humans are more than just a physical body. There are 7 major chakras in the body. We all have an energetic body around our physical body that is continuously moving, transforming and transmuting into something new. The energetic body is ever changing and evolving. It is also known as the light body. In Sanskrit it means"Wheels of light". The subtle body, (chakras), connects to the physical body, by gyrating through the condensed energy centers, called the chakras. The chakras are in constant or continuous communication with the endocrine and lymphatic system, transmitting new and positive energy in and through, and moving old and or negative energy out.

By feeding our bodies with healthy food, love, compassion and some form of physical movement, like, walking, breathwork, dancing, yoga, Quigong, stretching, swimming, Tai Chi, meditation etc...we are practicing self love, preventing dis-ease and creating a healthy balance in our lives.

Chakras are always open to some degree and never fully close. Chakras correlate to groups of nerves, major organs and areas of our energetic body that affect our emotional and physical well being; however some are very small, very large or in the middle size, depending on the person. This would indicate that some chakras are underactive, overactive or balanced. One could say that a person's heart chakra is closed, although it is not fully closed but is very small or underactive. The subtle body allows the life force energy to enter the physical body. Without the subtle body(Chakras), a person would not even be able to move. When a chakra is very small it could mean to say there is not enough life force energy or Chi, flowing through it for it to be in a healthy state. This would also mean there is a blockage or stuck energy in this area. There are many types of healing modalities that can assist with working through these blockages, like Reiki, Tuning forks, shamanic journeying, to name a few. Other types could be, Journal writing, spending time in nature, counselling, massage, even playing a sport or painting, singing, writing, basically any type of outlet that helps release old emotions and old belief systems, ways of thinking, perspectives, etc.....There are too many to mention all. Using essential oils and crystals can therapeutic as well.

Anytime there is a physical issue with the body, for example, a digestive issue, headache, low back pain; this can mean there are energy blocks in one of the related chakras. So lets say a person has digestive issues, most likely there is an energetic blockage in the solar plexus chakra. Each organ in the body is connected to a chakra center. Depending on the issue a person may want to use various types of healing or meditation, yoga, etc....to help dislodge and move the energy that is blocking the natural flow of Chi.


Of course with all types of ailments it is best to go to the doctor and get checked out, so that all possible medical issues may be ruled out. If they are not able to find anything wrong then perhaps energy healing can be helpful.


Reiki Is a great way to heal and dislodge stuck or blocked energy in the body and energy field as well as many other types of healing modalities already mentioned in this blog.
